Charlotte Michos, MS, RN, CNS, CLNC®, has extensive background in the health field as a clinical nurse specialist, professor and writer. She has blended her diverse background in the healthcare with her experiences in fitness and dance. After completing her undergraduate work in California, Charlotte received her graduate degree in nursing from the Sage Colleges in New York State. Charlotte is also a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC®), and a member of the National Alliance of Legal Nurse Consultants (NACLNC®). Her consulting services are available to anyone who practices law or handles medical-related cases.

Charlotte is the creator and director of the popular multi-level fitness and wellness program, “Ageless and Moving™, operating at Bard College in the Hudson Valley of New York for more than 16 years. She has combined her skills in her work with older adults and seniors to offer a unique approach to physical activity and good health. Charlotte’s nursing experience includes rehabilitation, orthopedics, teaching and community health. In addition to the program at Bard College, Charlotte does private work in the form of individual health consultations for fitness and overall wellness with all age groups.

Over the last decade and a half, she has also offered workshops in various settings: retreats, churches, spas, gyms, and in the Fall 2007 season, she was invited to operate classes at The 30th Reunion celebration at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Due to the popularity and success stories of Charlotte’s work, she is now introducing certification sessions in her “More Than Stretch™” movement technique. Her “More Than Stretch ” video (Click here to order) is endorsed by doctors and has been sold as a teaching tool through her healthcare distributors.

Charlotte writes a monthly wellness column for a local newspaper (Visit My Blog). Future work will include a book on back maintenance. Charlotte continues with her work in preventative health with a focal point being movement as a key to life. She believes that it is important to keep a fitness plan simple because ‘life has become too complicated,’ and we try to do too much. Relaxation is an important part of her work (see Relaxation CD). Finding a balance of rest and movement is critical. Her philosophy: “ Through my work, I aim to enable people to do the things they want to do in everyday life.”

Charlotte lives with her husband; her daughter is currently in Medical School. Their golden retriever Heidi, passed several years ago.

They enjoy travel and hiking. She dedicates her work to her extended family who have lived long and hearty lives, especially her mother, who is now a nonagenarian (in her 90s!).
